Popular literature, movies, and TV often delve into the topic of a character climbing the social strata (think Pride & Prejudice, Downton Abbey, Revenge, heck - even the Real Housewives). Did you find her relatable even though her story takes place 75 years ago?Ģ. One of her favorite books is Walden, though she also comes to love Agatha. She is smart, well-read, and apt at reading people. The story then flashes back to New Year’s Eve in 1937, when Katey is in her mid-20s. Katey is in late middle age when the narrative opens with the prologue. We are around the same age as the main character, Katey. Katey is the narrator and main character of the story.
